Step aboard the mighty Handhu, a 90-foot liveaboard vessel, for an exclusive small-group expedition through the remote Central Atolls of the Maldives.

This is not your standard surf charter. From May 5–16, 2027, join professional surfer Timmy Reyes and marine biologist Maddy Reyes for a rare, immersive ocean experience—where uncrowded waves meet pristine underwater ecosystems.

Sample Itinerary

Day 1 — May 5

Arrive in Malé. Transfer to Handhu in Hulhumalé Harbour.
Afternoon surf session possible (depending on arrival times).

Days 2–11 — May 6–15

• 10 full surf days across Malé & Central Atolls (conditions dependent)

• Overnight crossings to maximise surf time

• Access to remote breaks with minimal crowds

Day 12 — May 16

• Optional morning surf (if flight schedules allow)

• Return to Malé

• Airport transfer (approx. 5 hours prior to departure)

Male' & Central Atolls:

10 days delivers a veritable buffet of waves, from long, down-the-line speed runs to playful walls and hollow tubes that will test even confident barrel riders. With a dozen or so quality reef breaks in close proximity, both shortboarders and longboarders will be equally stoked by the incredible variety and consistency on offer.

You will surf the Sth Male' atoll on the way down to Central Atolls and on the way back. These regions have less surfers around than the Nth Male' atoll.

South Malé atoll is approx. 3 hr steam from Himmafushi and works best on larger East swells, generally breaking around 2 feet smaller than the North. As an example, a 1m, 14-second SE swell with west winds could see Sultans at 6ft+ while Quarters runs around 3–4ft.

The Central Atolls

The Central Atolls lie between the Male Atolls and Outer Atolls and host some classic breaks that you need to go the extra mile to surf with you your mates. On our longer trips you can surf Dhaal, Thaa, Laamu and Meemu atolls feasting on waves such as Aquariums, Little Heaven, Ying Yangs , Machines etc. Our expert local surf guide's aim is to get you surfing where no-one else is - in pristine, perfect locations. We have many repeat customers on these trips for this very reason. 

The Central atolls trips that start and finish in Malè you'll be Island Hopping with some overnight travel (weather permitting) to avoid lost surf time during the days.
